Heriades truncorum (L.) settled mainly the cane tubes of 12-16 cm length and of 4 mm diameter. The other bee species settled the cane tubes of 14-16 cm length and of diameter: 4 mm for Chelostoma florisomne (L.), but 4-5 mm for Ch. fuliginosum (Panz.) and H. crenulatus Nyl. The partitions between individual larval cells and the stopper of nests of Chelostoma were built of the soil and of nests of Heriades were built of certain resin. It seems that an artificial rearing of these four species and their use for pollination of some glass-house crops is possible - but their methods need still a practical elaboration
