Species composition, numbers and biomass of the littoral bottom fauna during summer in the mixo-oligohaline Lebsko lake were similar to those found for freshwater, polimictic lakes of northern Poland. Compared to the 50-ties and 60-ties a district improverishment was ascertained in the qualitative composition of Molluska and Hirudinea. Four habitats of the fauna occurrence have been distinguished: mud and sand sediments, both with and without helophytes. In this group of littoral habitats the qualitative similarity of the bottom fauna was more conditioned by the types of sediments, while its quantitative similarity was more dependent on the occurrence of helophytes. The differences found between the habitats gave evidence, that the compared communities were different in character
