Study effects of sludge from paper industry on changes in soil properties and rice yields (RD-15) in Roi-Et soil series was conducted at Agricultural Development Research Center in Northeast Thailand, Khon Kaeng Province. There were 3 rates of sludge as 5, 10 and 15 tons/rai. Sludge application trended to increase the organic matter and available potassium content and the value of electrical conductivity in the soil. The application of sludge at the more rate 5 ton/rai to the soil, had effect decreasing the rice growth rate and crop yield because of the appearance of anaerobic sludge decomposition process.
