Female mud crabs Stage 3 that the ovarian size was less than 25 percent of body cavity were reared in 20 square m concrete tanks until reached berried stage. Each tank was 30 individuals with 2 different techniques, Tank No. 1 and No. 2 with sand substrate 50 percent of bottom area. Tank No. 3 and No. 4 with sand substrate 100 percent of bottom area. At the end of experiments, the average number female mud carbs that ovaries developed more than 75 percent of body cavity (ovaries stage 4) in tanks with sand substrate 50 percent of bottom area and tanks with sand substrate 100 percent of bottom area were 23.0 and 4.5 individuals respectively. The average number of berried female mud crabs in tanks with sand substrate 50 percent of bottom area and tanks with sand substrate 100 percent of bottom area were 7.5 and 8.0 individuals or 25.00 and 26.27 percent respectively. The difference was nonsignificant (P0.05). It took about 10-16 days to reached Zoea stage 1 at temperature 23-31 deg C.
