During 1985 and 1987; 201, 179 and 164 fecal samples from dairy and buffalo calves in Chiengmai province, Thapkwang Breeding and Developing Research Center, Saraburi and Surin Breeding Station were collected, respectively. Organisms with morphology identical to Cryptosporidium spp. were demonstrated in direct smears of fecal samples stained with Modified Ziehl-Neelsen. In dairy calves, 3 days to 3 months of age, 48 out of 380 (12.63) samples were positive and organisms were ranging in size from 3 to 4 micro m. Thirty-five out of 164 (21.34) samples from buffalo calves aged 5 days to 4 1/2 months were positive. The oocysts were slightly larger and ranging in size from 4 to 6 micro m.
