The two fodder pea varieties, NS Junior and Bohatir were studied. The yield of green mass and dry matter of the whole pea plants as well as the yield of crude protein and digestible protein (t/ha) was greater in the NS Junior variety than in the Bohatir variety. Regarding the net energy (NE and NEL), NS Junior was also dominant compared with Bohatir. The whole pea plant of the Bohatir variety had greater content of crude proteins and smaller content of cellulose in relation to NS Junior. The yield of dry grain was greater in the Bohatir variety compared to the NS Junior variety. NS Junior had greater leaf content while Bohatir had more grains. The green mass in both pea varieties was successfully haylaged after sifting, therefore this way of conserving, in the phase of milk-waxy maturity, can be recommended, provided that the optimal dry matter content is being secured (45-55).
