Effect of enzymes treated maize silage on milk yield and composition of dairy cows

During 10 wks experimental period the two groups of cows were fed with similar diet containing 20 kg maize silage, 4.5 kg alfalfa hay and 5 kg concentrate mixture.The one and only difference was treatment of the maize silage.The first group received untreated and second group Corzyme treated silage.Feeding with enzymes treated maize silage does not change significantly, compare to control silage, pH, total concentration and proportion of different volative fatty acids, level of ammonia, number of protozoa in 1 ml and proportion of different genera of protozoa in rumen content.Feed intake and the level of blood urea was similar for two groups of cows.
