1997
Must, K. (Estonian Agricultural Univ., Tartu (Estonia). Faculty of Veterinary Medicine)
Porcine respiratory and reproductive syndrome is a new disease in swine. The two most characteristic features of the disease are postfarrowing respiratory problems in piglets and reproductive losses in guilts. A serological screening of Estonian swine herds was completed in 1996. In total 660 serum samples from randomly selected animals originating from 53 herds were tested using ELISA. The results of the survey demonstrate the absence of the PRRSV-infections in Estonia
