The response of snap beans cv. Giza 3 to the effect of plastic covers under cool weather was studied. Using clearar polyethylene tunnels and black polyethylene mulch induced increases in plant height, fresh weight, early and total yields per plant and pod sugars content, pod diameter, volume, T.S.S., ascorbic acid. Protein and dry matter did not respond to those two covers. From another point of view, the two treatments did not affect the flowering time or pod length in the first length and in the second one. The concentration of chlorophyll in pods increased significantly under the tunnel and decreased so much in the first season, both treatments however did not affect chlorophyll concentration in the second one
