Side-effect of pesticides on beneficial athropods used in glasshouse

In Hungary, the number of biological agents used in glasshouse production has regularly increased. The companies distributing beneficial have not always adequate on the pesticide senitivity of thise products. The side-effect of Admiral 10 EC (a.i. piriproxifen) registered for glasshouse production in Hungary has been studied on the major arthropods under laboratory conditions according to the IOBC methods. Based on the obtained results, it was found that this formulation has been safe for the females of Encarsia formosa, nymphs and adults of Macrolophus caliginosus and has shown low toxicity to the nymphs and developed forms of Phytoseiulus persimilis
