[The condition of farms and smallholdings in the view of Gaujiena district farmers]

A survey of the farms and smallholdings in Gaujiena district (70% of the total number) has been carried out with the aim to determine the farmers' living standard and social conditions during the land reform. The resulting data of the survey have been analysed and are presented in tables. The use of arable land, the condition of living houses and premises for farm animals, the availability of farm machinery have been discussed. The farmers' opinion of the reform and of their living and working conditions has been considered.
