[The use of dator programs on family farms]

The present tendency in using dators on family farms is explained. In order to find out what kind of information offered by dator programs in consultation offices is used on farms a questioning was carried out in seven rural districts of Latvia in 1997. The summed up results of the questioning are presented in table 1. The number of farmers using dators in the seven questioned districts is shown in table 2. The conclusion is drawn that the use of dator programs on family farms is only in the initial stage.
