[Biological effectiveness of herbicides Focus Ultra for the control of Agropyron repens in potato fields]

Investigations were carried out by the Latvia State Plant Protection Centre in the period of 1994-1996. In the given report the invetsigation results are discussed. The investigations showed that the herbicide Focus Ultra applied in potato fields at the rates of 4.0, 6.0 and 2.5 l/ha reduced the number of Agropyron Repens by 65-97.5 . Applied at the rates of 4.0-6.0 l/ha it increased the tubers yield by about 67.3 , but at the rate of 2.5 l/ha the yield increased by about 148 . Focus Ultra did not cause any negative influence on potato crop. The investigation should be proceded to obtain precise data on optimal herbicide doses and application time in dicotyledonous crops
