Six wheat varieties grown in earthen pots were compared for variation in plant dry weight, leaf, root, stem dry weight, leaf area, leaf area ratio, specific leaf weight, net assimilation rate, relative growth rate, leaf area per unit of leaf weight, leaf nitrogen contents and interrelationships among these characters were observed. Leaf area ration was positively correlated with relative growth rate and negatively with net assimilation rate. Net assimilation rate was positively correlated with specific leaf weight and nitrogen contents in leaves but negatively correlated with leaf area per unit of leaf weight. Specific leaf weight was positively correlated with nitrogen contents.
