Regeneration of plum (Prunus domestica L.) cultivars Cacanska Rodna, Stanley, and Cacanska Najbolia from in vitro leaf explants
1997
Nowak, B. | Miczynski, K. (Agricultural University, Krakow (Poland). Dept. of Botany)
Regenertation of three plum cultivars- Cacanska Rodna, Stanley and Cacanska Najbolia - from vitro leaf explants was investigated on media with various content of mineral compounds, TDZ and NAA and under different light conditions. The activity of silver was studied in detail in the cultivar Cacanska Rodna. The obtained results show that particular cultivars have very different requirements for regeneration with regard both for the light conditions and composition of media. The process of regeneration was the most effective on the MS medium contining a half-strength concentration of macro nutrients with the addition of 0.2 mg/l NAA + 1.65 mg TDZ. Addition of silver nitrate stimulated regeneration only at comparatively low concentrations
