The experiments were conducted to study the heat transfer in stored sorghum by observing the changes in temperature and quality of sorghum stored in cylindrical metal bins as affected by changes in outside ambient air temperature, initial moisture content and size of storage bins. Experimental results indicated that the average grain temperature inside the storage bin followed the average outside air temperature profile. The time lag between a chnge in ambient air temperature and a change in grain temperature was approximately 8-12 days. Grain temperature distribution in all bins indicated that temperature gradients in both the radial and axial directions were established. Quality deterioration was observed at bottom layers of high moisture grain (14.72) due to the moisture migration caused by convective air current which was higher in larger bins than small ones. The mathematical model of Abbouda (1984) was tested and validated by comparing predicted temperatures with data obtained from large experimental bin (110 cm in diameter) containing sorghum with 8 moisture content on w.b during a one year of static storage period
