Application of some epiphytic lichens for environmental valorisation of mountain forests in Slovakia

The Index of Ecological Continuity for British ancient woodlands in lowlands using some epiphytic lichen species was adapted for mountain forests (500-1400 m) in Slovakia. The number of species occurring on the site corresponds to its ecological continuity and degree of anthropic influence. According to the value of the Index of Ecological Continuity, the site can be classed into one of five environmental categories
