A small-plot field trial was carried out to study essential phenological, morphological and agronomic traits of 7 domestic Slovak chick-pea (Cicer arietinum L.) genotypes in comparison with 105 foreign genotypes, at Hontianske Tesare (Slovakia) in 1994. The Slovak genotypes were more erect and 15 percent higher than foreign genotypes. Thousand seed weight was 6 percent lower and seed yield was 4 percent higher than the mean of the foreign genotypes. Some of the Slovak chick-pea genotypes might be used in the breeding programme of this pulse
