Economic tools and their impact on overcoming national recession of agro-food enterprises

Transformation into the market economy brought fundamental changes to the aims, methods and even the extent of economic tools. Primary agricultural production soon got into difficulties, its efficiency was reduced and total economic results deteriorated. High prices and production volume decreases caused bad economic results for the processing industry. Alongside the decline of economic efficiency of food enterprises there was also a reduction of subsidies to this sector, which together with the subsidies to services and research fell to less than 5 percent of the total extent of subsidies to the agro-food industry complex. The solution for the above problems can be seen in the preparation of a development strategy for agro-food industry towards its compatibility with the European Union. Towards this aim it should be necessary to adapt economical tools as well
