Genepool of common chickling (Lathyrus sativus L.) in Slovakia

In 1994, a small-plot field experiment was conducted at Hontianske Tesare (Slovakia) to assess some basic phenological, morphological and agronomic characteristics of 8 domestic Slovak common chickling (Lathyrus sativus L.) with 12 foreign genotypes. Among the domestic genotypes, colour of flowers was lighter, thousand seed weight was twice as high and seed yield 1.14 times higher when compared with the foreign genotypes. Some of the domestic genotypes are considered promising genetic resources for common chickling breeding in Slovakia
