Foliar analyses for determining immission loading in Slovakia

Basic data on emissions and immissions in Slovakia are completed by the information on the concentration of significant elements in relation to emission in 2-year-old needles of Picea abies from three industrial localities and from three mountain forest complexes. Exceeding of limit contents of arsenic (0.21 mg.kg-1), chromium (0.12 mg.kg-1), copper (2.0 mg.kg-1), fluorine (2.0 mg.kg-1), mercury (0.12 mg.kg-1), sulphur (1,000 mg.kg-1), vanadium (0.07 mg.kg-1) and zinc (20 mg.kg-1) was found in all industrial localities and mountain complexes. The content of cadmium (0.3 mg.kg-1) was exceeded in the locality Kysuce-Orava, the content of nickel (2.0 mg.kg-1) was exceeded in Ziarska valley
