Factors influencing farmers' repayment capacity of BAAC's credit in Amphoe Tupkhlo Changwnt Phichit

Main objective of this study is to analyze factors influencing farmer's repayment of credit. The data in this study are obtained from an interview of 63 sample farmers during a crop year of 1991/1992. Correlation analysis and multiple regression are the analytical tools. The analytical results showed that 69.84 % of borrowing farmers who got credit from BAAC in 1991 were able to repay some of their credit. The rest of borrowing farmers 30.16 % were unable to repay. The result of the carrelation analysis indicated that the farm operating expenses and loan size were highly significant correlate with the outstanding debt.Farm cash income consumption expenditures and loan size were the significant factors affecting the outstanding debt of the borrowing farmers. The study outcome recommended that the debt outstanding of borrowing farmers could be reduced through a strict control of farmers' credit used for from production and an increased income of farmers by promoting various supplemental income generating activities to farmers. Moreover, the farmers client of BAAC should be requested to prepare their credit use planing for farm production under the supervision of BAAC.
