In the first experiment nutritive values, cyanide concentration, ruminal degradable dry matter, protein and cell wall of rubber seed meal collected from factories. Rubber seed meal from Nakhorn Pathom, Rayong and Songkhla factories were found to contain : 12.52, 13.82 and 14.88 percent protein ; 6.50, 6.00 and 6.79 percent fat; 23.62, 25.11 and 28.99 percent NFE; 47.62, 46.22 and 40.92 percent fiber and 2.13, 3.11 and 2.88 percent ash, respectively. Cyanide content of rubber seed meal from the three factories were lower than 5 ppm. Ruminal degradable dry matter, protein and cell wall at 24 hours were 29.87, 27.66 and 39.41 percent for dry matter, 53.22 59.81 and 67.31 percent for protein and 33.46, 41.31 and 52.58 percent for cell wall, respectively. Degradable dry matter, protein and cell wall of rubber seed meal from Songkhla factory were higher (p.01) than those of rubber seed meal from Nakhorn Pathom and Rayong factories. In the second experiment, the potential utilization level of rubber seed meal in the concentrate supplements for lactating dairy cows was evaluated. Milk yield, milk quality and feed intake for the four treatments were not significant difference (P0.05). Milk yield averaged 9.37, 9.75, 9.66 and 9.11 kg/cow/day, while feed intake averaged 12.67, 13.16, 13.22 and 12.74 kg/cow/day respectively. It is observed, however, that body condition of the dairy cow receiving supplement containing 35 percent level of rubber seed meal was poorer than those receiving the other rations. Hence, maximum level of rubber seed meal in the supplement for dairy cows is estimated at about 25 percent. In this experiment, feed cost decreased slightly as the levels of rubber seed meal increased in the diets.
