Relationship of fuel moisture contents and micro-climate in dry dipterocarp forest at Bhupan National Park, Sakolnakorn

Fuel in Dry Dipterocarp forest consisted of litter, undergrowth and grass which its total average biomass was 4133 kg/ha. The biomass of litter, undergrowth and grass were 2325, 791 and 1016 kg/ha, respectively. Moisture contents in total fuel were ranging from 31 to 49 % with an average of 37 %. The lowest fuel moisture content was in February. Considering moisture content in each fuel type, litter had lowest moisture content and undergrowth had the highest one. The average moisture content for litter, grass and undergrowth during the study period were 15 %, 42 % and 53 %, respectively. Relative humidity was the most important climatic factor for the fuel moisture content which its contribution of 89 %, 63 %, 44 % and 28 % to moisture content in total, grass, litter and undergrowth, respectively.
