Recommended technology used by durian growers in Chanthaburi

Technology can improve durian production. It is necessary to improve the quality of the product before selling, both in terminal market and in international market. And this is the reason for studying. The technology the durian growers presently used in order to improve their products. The mian objectives of this research are to study some aspects of durian growers, such as socio-economic background, the recommended technology used, the problems and the requirements in durian production. Durian growers (120 persons) living at Tambol Pluang, Amphoe Makham, Changwat Chanthaburi were used as samples. The data were collected by interview schedules and then statistically analyzed by using percentage and arithmatic means. Most of the durian growers were small-land holders; The average land holing was 15.5 rai per family and the average annual income was 134,000 baht. Most of the durain growers were not members of agricutural groups and most of them were advised by fertilzer and chemical dealers
