Experiments were conducted to ascertain the effects of "Humica" on the growth and yield of rice plants. The first experiment on two kinds of soil (Roi-Et series) was carried out to know the effective difference between two application methods; the one where the humica was applied directly into soil, and the other where seedling's roots dipped into 2 % of ZnO before transplanting. Humica solution was added at various application rates (0, 5.4, 16.2 and 32.5 .10-2 ml/pot) to the two rate of basic fertilizer (3.5 and 7.0 g of 15-15-15 compound fertilizer/pot). In the second experiment three kinds of soil (Roi-Et, Ubon and Kula Ronghai series) was used to know the effects of humica at rates of application (5.4 and 16.2x10(exp.-2) ml/pot) to the three rates of basic fertilizer level (0, 1.08 and 1.62 g of 15-15-15) compound fertilizer/pot and humica was applied in two different ways: 1. humica directly applied and mixed in the soil and 2. the seedling's roots were dipped in 2 % of ZnO suspension before transplanting. Generally speaking according to the data from both experiments, no distinct effects of Humica could be found with different application amounts and with different application methods.
