Previous investigations have shown that leaf blade area size and the stomatal apparatus structure strongly affect photosynthesis and concurrently plant yield. Taking this into consideration, our investigations included the analysis of above characters in 25 wheat genotypes. The obtained results point to significant genotypic differences in all the analyzed traits. The number of adaxial stomata was greater than abaxial ones in all the analyzed genotypes. Negative nonsignificant correlation was found between adaxial stomata number and yield components, whereas highly significant positive correlation was obtained with grain and spike mass and leaf area.
