Poultry is exposed to stressors almost continuously. High stressful condition will cause various metabolic changes, which in turn may influence health and performance of the birds considerably. These changes are best described by General Adoptation Syndrome. Changes in the environmental temperature induce stress in birds. Mortality and production losses due to hot weathers are serious problems in many broiler producing areas of India. Heat stress also leads to immune suppression. To overcome the condinuous stressors, as well as heat stress in case of broilers, many chemicals have been tried but there is scanty literature available about the Aurvedic preparations. Hence, an experiment was carried out to study the efficacy of stressroak, an Aurvedic preparation, on stress conditions in case of broilers.
