The objective of the investigation was to suggest the possibilities and advantages of applying new technologies and methods in order to obtain greater quantities and better quality of beef meat. It was established that young cattle of genotypes 1 and 2 (crossbreds of Charolais and Limousine with Domestic Spotted breed) have some advantages over genotype 3 (young cattle of Domestic Spotted breed) regarding body confirmation in some carcass linear measures and slaughtering traits. Also, highly significant (P0/.01) influence of genotype on dressing percentage and meat yield in halves and lower absolute contribution of tallow and bones in crossbreds with fattening breeds was established. The results indicate the justification of the use of crossbreds of young cattle for obtaining greater meat yield. In this way the utilization of one part of our population of Domestic spotted breed of lower production abilities would result in greater quantities of beef meat.
