Manipulations with genomes and genes of animals and plants in agriculture. [University textbook, 70]
1997
Vucinic, M. | Pesic, V.
The first part of the book presents basic data on the nucleotide-sequence organization of genomes of domestic animals and plants, as well as on the variability of nucleotide sequences, importance of sequence polymorphism for mapping genomes and the manner of interpretation of the existence of this polymorphism. Following the presentation of nucleotide-sequence organization of mammalian and plant genomes in the firts part of the book, the second part describes the basic elements of the method of genome mapping on the basis of analyses of linked heredity, as well as numerous physical methods (cytogenetic and molecular methods) of genome mapping. The third part of the book presents some of the possibilities using the artificial manipulation of genomes and genes, as well as their importance for agriculture.
