The light is one of the main factor impact on the quality and productivity of alfalfa sward. Shaded by upper leaves and stems reducing in photosyntetic capasity and dying of lower leaves in an canopy would be observed. The objective of this investigation was to determine the changing in photosyntetically active radiation (PhAR) inside of alfalfa sward depending on: i) total radiation phon and ii) average height of productive tillers. As a results of studies we find a large fluctuation in the PhAR regime inside of canopy. The most shaded were aboveground parts of alfalfa situated near the soil surfice, especially in conditions of cloudy weather and lodging sward
