Due to Estonian mosaic and regionally largely varying soil fertility the productivity of Filipendula site type birchwood is regionally different. Variability of stand species composition and original type background of Filipendula site type birchwood cause essential differences in stock of mature stands even in case of similar quality class. The average quality class of drained Filipendula site type birchwoods is at o.3 class higher and composition of stands is more of high quality than those of nondrained Filipendula site type birchwoods, which refutes previous standpoint about not purposive drainage of this site type. The best Filipendula site type birchstands are occuring in the southwesternEstonia and in Alutaguse, where common alder and aspen have great importance in birchstands. Poorer are Filipendula site type birchstands in the northwestern Estonia with remarkable part of common alder and birchstands in the western Estonia with aspen and spruce
