[Effects of silage treated with chemical additives on microflora changes in the rumen of fattening bulls]

Trials were conducted to determine metabolism changes in the rumen of fattening bulls fed on AIV-3- and AIV-10-treated silage. Sillage treated with the chemical additives AIV-3 and AIV-10 slightly influenced microflora activities of rumen : at the end of the trial infusoria count, the concentration of volatile fatty acids and the content of propionic acid were higher by 6.80 and 23.38, 24.45 and 24.96 and 3.61 and 2.75 respectively. Daily weight gains of bulls fed on AIV-3- and AIV-10-treated silage were by 3.37 and 6.57 higher, and feed intakes per kg gain were by 0.44 and 2.35 lower, accordingly.
