[Pesticide content in garden beets]

Investigations were carried out to determine the content of pesticides in garden beets grown in Krimulda district. In the beet samples the presence of eleven pesticides was determined to compare their concentration with the permissible rates established by the Latvia State Standards. The apparatus and the method used in the investigations are described. The investigation results showed that the presence of pesticides in the tested beets was not detected.
