Growth parameter studies in linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.)

A pot experiment was conducted at University of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK, Frongach field station to evaluate plant spacing effects on growth parameters (leaf area index (LAI), net assimilation rate (NAR), crop growth rate (CGR) and relative growth rate (RGR) of Linseed. LAI increased with the age of plant while NAR increased as plant spacing was increased with peak values just before flowering. CGR decreased as plant spacing increased. However, RGR increased with increase of spacing up to the middle of the growing period and then gave inconsistent response.
