Analysis of the data on 860 Nili-Ravi buffaloes from 37 sires, who had completed life time records, indicated that phenotypic and genetic correlations between first lactation 305-day milk yield and life time milk yield were 0.19 and 0.25 respectively. The two correlations were found to be significant. The first lactation 305-day milk yield had significant phenotypic (0.12) and genetic (0.07) correlation with productive life. The phenotypic (0.12) and genetic (0.32) correlation between first lactation 305-day milk yield and the herd life were also significant. The longevity had significant phenotypic correlation of 0.10 with first lactation 305-day milk yield but the genetic correlation (0.06) between the two traits was non-significant. The genetic correlation between. First lactation 305-day milk yield and coefficient of reproductive ability was 0.26 and was significant but the phenotypic correlation between these two traits was non-significant.
