Quantitative and qualitative changes in the soil bacterial community at reduction of fungal numbers by methiram
1996
Kaszubiak, H. | Muszynska, M. (Academy of Agriculture, Poznan (Poland). Dept. of Soil Microbiology)
Reduction of the fungal community by methiram lead in loose sand to an increase in the typical bacteria numbers detectable, using the culture method, when the soil was limed or/and amended with fresh organic matter. The increase was accompanied by a reduction in actinomycetes numbers and the total numbers of bacterial communities detectable under the microscope. The reasons underlying this phenomenon are discussed
