The imidazole derivative, Klotrimazol (phenyl-2-chlorophenyl)-1-imidazolyl-methane), opens a very interesting opportunity for searching for effective and safe chemical uses in the control of chalkbrood and mixed fungal infections (Ascosphaera apis and Aspergillus sp.). Klotrimazole stimulates defense reactions of the honey bee. The value of phagocytosis, and level of innate and inducible hemolymph immune proteins increase in worker bees exposed to Klotrimazole
