Experiments show a fairly high biological potential of Carpoglyphus lactis on honey. This bee product provides the nourishment necessaries of mites and ensures their satisfactory development and multiplication. This fact is probably one of the reasons of mite infestations of honey, which happen from time to time. Honey seems to be one of the appropriate and effective media or valuable addition to diets for laboratory cultures of driedfruit mite and in production of biological material for experiments as well as for mite demonstration and teaching acarology
