It was found that: Delay of the faba bean harvest from the green to yellow stage of seed maturity increased the content of dry matter in the seeds, the yield of seeds per pod and plant, as well as 1000 seed weight. When harvested in the period of yellow-full maturity, the increases mentioned above were indistinct; In comparison with the 1-stage harvest of faba bean, especially that regarding the cultivar Nadwislanski, the 2-stage harvest resulted in an increased yield of seeds per pod and plant, as well as enhanced 1000 seed weight; Only in the humid year 1996, compared with the selfending vegetation cultivar Tinos, the cultivar Nadwislanski had longer vegetative period. However, on an average it gave more pods and seeds per pod and, thereby, a greater yield of seeds per plant
