Duskova, J. | Jahodar, L. | Dusek, J. (Karls-University, Hradec Kralove (Czech Republik))
The paper describes the possibility of the arbutin production in tissue cultures of Bellis perennis L. Bergenia crassifolia (L.) Fritsch, Brassica oleracea var. Capitata L., Coronilla varia L., Leonurus cardiaca L., Leuzea carthamoides DC., Rheum palmatum L., Rhodiola rosea L. and Datura meteloides DC. ex Dunal by applying of its potential precursors into the nutrient medium. The optimal transformation of hydroquinone and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid to arbutin were achieved by tissue culture of Datura meteloides and of tyrosine to arbutin by Rhodiola rosea culture. This knowledge is accepted only at optimum time of precursor activity. Arbutin was not released into the medium
