Food acceptance of several Polish kinds of honey by Carpoglyphus lactis (L.), one of the most common apiary products pests, was studied. Examined kinds of honey such as accacia honey, buckwheat, lime, rape, blossom (from orchards), summer multiflore, honeydew (from conifers), nectar-honeydew were accepted by the pest. However, rape, buckwheat, and lime honey were slightly more preferred. An increase C. lactis population on honey was attributed to its intense consumption, reproduction, and development; these factors may explain the frequent infestation and contamination of natural honey with the mite
