[Natural catastrophe in forests of Horehronie]

At the 8 June 1996 an intensive whirlwind rushed Horehronie (Slovak Republic) with the speed of 200 km/hour and damage 2 600 hectars of forests. It caused the losses in amount of 1 billion SKK and the volume of the blow down reached 1.5 million of cubic m of wood, what is the one third of year woodcutting volume in Slovakia.
