The effect of loading and pruning on the initiation and differentiation of cluster rudiment buds

Different stock bud cluster loading and pruning type (lenght of the one year wood) on the growth intensity and wood ripeness level as well as on the fertility of winter buds were tested. Measurements were undertaken in December and at the end of February. Different vine cluster loading and different pruning types did not show significant influence on the bud fertility coeficient of one year wood during the winter months. Significant differences of this coeficient were however found after completion of the winter period
