The work presents results of a three years productional research on the aboveground and belowground biomass of selected plant species. The influence of stocking, shade degree, total precipitation depth and average soil temperature in a 5 cm depth on the biomass production was evaluated as well. The research was undertaken in the submountane beech forest stands at the Ecological-Experimental Station (EES) in the Kremnicke vrchy Mts. The highest production values were recorded on the plot H, the lowest ones on the plot K. The biomass production was significantly influenced by "light factors", the lowest influence was observed at the average soil temperature
