1998
Medvedcky, D. (Slovenska Polnohospodarska Univ., Nitra (Slovak Republic))
In two parallel experiments (E1,E2) in four groups of 3-6-month old calves, the possibility of making bullock-rearing more efficient was ascertained. Feed rations were based on green alfalfa and corn silage, with addition of hay-saving grain feeds (replacing grain mixture TKS with cereal meal, wheat and barley). The daily gain in trial E1 reached 0.985 kg (in control and experimental groups). Consumption of the grain mixture per kilogram of daily gain was 1.73 and 1.74 kg. In trial E2 of the higher bulk feeds the daily gain reached 0.917 and 0.907 kg. Consumption of the grain mixture per kilogram of daily gain was 1.33 and 1.38 kg. The saving of the mixture was 0.40 and 0.36 kg per kilogram of daily gain. Production effects of both mixtures used were the same
