Parasites and hormones
1995
Coskun, S.Z. (Uludag University, Faculty of Veterinay Medicine, Bursa (Turkey). Div. of Parasitology)
There are delicately balanced host-parasite interactions based on hormonal communication. Parasites effect hosts' endocrin system to create suitable conditions for their establishment and survival. Host hormones interfere with the development of some parasites. Parasite hormones in high concentrations block physiological functions and cause to die of parasite. So, hormones, hormone analogues and anti-hormone preparations seem to be better candidate for therapothic purposes
