Effect of breed, age and fertility on greasy fleece weight in Akkaraman and Awassi sheep

Effect of breed, age and fertility on greasy fleece weight was investigated for Akkaraman and Awassi sheep at Gozlu state farm. The effects of breed, fertility and the interaction of breed X age were statistically significant (P0,01), however, the effect of age was not significant. The least-squares means of greasy fleece weight were found as 2,600 and 3,186 kg in Akkaraman Awassi sheep, respectively; as 2,783, 3,011, 2,903, 2,950 and 2,820 kg for two, three, four, five and six aged ewes, resp.; as 3,125, 2,914 and 2,641 kg for non-pregnant, ewes born on and two lambs, resp.
