[New bacterial concentrate on the basis of lactic acid bacteria for dry biological products]

On the basis of studying biological properties of lactic acid bacteria the effective bacterial composition ALT is produced which includes the species Lactococcus lactis ssp. lactis, Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus acidophilus. The bacteria are chosen from a collection maintained at the Technological Institute of Milk and Meat (Kyiv, Ukraine). Under the laboratory conditions the composition's antagonictic effect is studied in relation to pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic bacteria as well as capability for adhesiveness on enterocytes, tolerance to digestive tract's agressive substances. The ALT inhibits 11 strains of pathogenic microorganisms, including Yersinia enterocolitica, Shigella flexneri, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The concentrate is used for producing the dry food product Lactovit. It may be used as a starter culture when producing fermented milk products. ALT's therapeutic effect on a child's organism is studied. In the children with disbacterioses of the 1st and 2nd degrees positive changes in digestive microflora composition were observed after administration of the composition. Bifido- and lactobacteria species number increased correspondingly by 100 and 10-100 times and quantitative composition of enterobacteria normalized.
