Spermagglutinins and fertility of heifers and cows

This paper gives a chronological presentation of results obtained in studies of the presence of spermagglutinins in blood serum and cervical mucus of domestic and some experimental animals. Special attention was devoted to the consideration of the importance of antibodies to antigenes of spermatozoon and sperm dilutants in the etiopathogenesis of non-symptomatic infertility of heifers and cows. The authors present evidence in favour of the supposition that antibodies which obstruct successful reproduction can occur during artificial insemination of heifers and cows.
